Breathtaking poetry of balance - Fragile moments of happiness.

In 1996 the unique performance with the 13 palm leaf panicles and the feather was created during the rehearsals for the dance theater SANDDORN. For more than 10 years Mädir Eugster Rigolo showed the act exclusively in own productions of RIGOLO Swiss Nouveau Cirque, later as an independent performance at countless theater festivals, on stages and in rings all over the world.

Stations are Tollwood-Festival, Roncalli, Flic Flac or André Heller and many other events in Europe, finally Spiegelworld on New York Broadway. Mädir Eugster Rigolo wins prizes with the SANDDORN-BALANCE at the circus festival in Dresden and Grenoble or in Switzerland at the Gauklerfestival. In Japan he is awarded as KAMIWAZA (master) in 2013.

Kamiwaza in Japan refers to a "master with superhuman abilities". The master of balance creates an extremely fragile giant mobile in slow motion from 13 palm leaf panicles and a feather, while the audience in the hall holds its breath and follows the deliberate movements spellbound. A dreamcatcher in search of fleeting happiness - an illusion. For no sooner is the balance found than it is destroyed by the artist himself. With the Kamiwaza award, the art of SANDDORN BALANCE has arrived in the land of Zen: Concentration, mindfulness and conscious perception in search of absolute reality unite in the 15-minute performance.

Mädir Eugster Rigolo could no longer satisfy the demand for "perhaps the most beautiful act in Europe" (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) on his own. He decided to pass on his act to selected artists. They, too, thrill audiences on all continents and add their own touch to the balance performance.

In 2011, the "Cirque du soleil" asked for a performer for the SANDDORN-BALANCE for a 10 year engagement. This prompted Mädir to pass the act on to his oldest daughter, Lara Jacobs. As of 2012, the SANDDORN BALANCE has been seen in Asia, America, Australia and Europe. In the U.S., Lara was hailed as the "Goddess of Balance" nightly in the Cirque du Soleil show "Amaluna." New York theater critic Nestruck ranked her Rigolo performance among the "Top 10" of 2012, and Lara has been running her own theater in New York since 2021. The highlight in "Moonrise" is the SANDDORN BALANCE.

Lara was not to remain Mädir's only student for long. Demand for the act grew steadily. Marula Eugster Rigolo, the youngest daughter of Master Mädir, took on the lead role in the legendary production WINGS BY RIGOLO with Sanddorn Balance in 2014 and debuted her own first dance theater piece SOSPIRI in 2020.

Miyoko Shida Rigolo, who also collaborated with Rigolo as a choreographer, creates a magical, Far Eastern aura around her SANDDORN BALANCE. Melodia Rigolo is the performer with Spanish temperament and Li Li Rigolo the graceful Korean. Andreis Jacobs Rigolo showed his interpretation of the SANDDORN-BALANCE in André Heller's "Africa Africa" and in the Circus Roncalli. Currently he can be seen in the Grand Show "Falling in love" at the Friedrichsstadt Palast in Berlin from October 2023.

The SANDDORN-BALANCE has become world famous and can be seen today worldwide in rings and on stages, in museums and at exhibitions, at festivals and in theaters as well as at corporate events. Mädir Eugster passed away in 2023 and his legacy lives on in his daughters Lara, Nuria and Marula.
